This is one of my favorite lessons for developing area and perimeter!
Could change the number to match the number of students to make a connection
You can see the wheels turning :)
Listen to her encouraging expectations! :)
Renaissance Table lol
Connections!! That's the key to learning!
Very nice real life connection to understanding available space possible
Reminds me of the Sir Cumference books that I love. Incorporating them in tomorrow's session. Kids love the real world/literature context.
Perfect activity to figure out social distancing!
Oh my gosh... this is math!
Would be a great connection if they are reading a book about a party, etc.
It's so important to give them a chance to problem solve and talk! They are all engaged!
I love student ownership
Definitely a way to think about social distancing spacing! :-) Real-life problem solving!
Ah... circles are sooooo important these days. 6 feet of social distancing.
precision...right angles and no overlap!
So engaging… love her style of teaching
What a fun activity! I love that students are physically moving and creating the rectangles with the border
Loved the engagement!
The yard sticks were great mega manipulatives
Perimeter= putting a fence around Area: painting a wall
My students loved the crime scene scenario...tape off the perimeter and comb the area for clues! :)
Love the crime scene idea. I always use the soldier walking the perimeter scenario
Everything going well, Lisa?
I think so
How fun!!!! I loved that!
That was fun!
My computer was lagging! Sorry to my partner!
are those games premade or do you make them?
This is one that Desmos has pre-made
Great for whole group too'
Some are remade and you can make them too
That would be great for kindergarten on finding a particular shape.
Is this a free Desmos activity?
I would need to supply a vocabulary list to play.
Luis's would also work
Desmos is free!
Thanks so much. Great resources!
